Pelwatte Dairy’s festive season campaign spreads Seasonal Joy and Happiness
Pelwatte Dairy Industries launched a Facebook campaign titled ‘Spread Seasonal Joy with Pelwatte’ to treat its customers to seasonal joy and happiness during the Christmas and New Year rush. The campaign which ran from the 01st of December to the 31st of December 2020 invited people staying at homes to share seasonal greetings portraying how they celebrated the Christmas with their families.
The greetings were published in the official Facebook page of Pelwatte. Out of the received greetings, 10 of the most creative cards were chosen and the winners were awarded with special gift vouchers. ‘Spread Seasonal Joy with Pelwatte’ campaign provided a platform to showcase festive celebrations and engage with their loved ones via Facebook. The participants eagerly shared their greetings – showered with blessings of love and happiness.
Christmas is that time of the year, which is filled with colorful decors, candles and carols. It fills the surrounding with the ringing of soothing bells, the dining table with nostalgic food and drink, and the hearts with love and affection while making everyone happy. However, this year’s Christmas has been different from that of the previous years. The pandemic has challenged gatherings and physical interaction – but the spirit of the season has remained unchanged.
The Managing Director of Pelwatte Dairy Industries, Mr Akmal Wickramanayake, commenting on the campaign said “Christmas is about love and joy, meeting and greeting, and most of all caring and sharing. We believe that the household brand of Pelwatte will help bring in the essence and the spirit of Christmas to the families even during these challenging times. We were overwhelmed with the responses we received and we are happy to share these greetings with all Sri Lankans.”
He further added “Pelwatte has been in the forefront of supporting the customers, stakeholders and the entire country with a number of meaningful initiatives carried out in line with our pillars of trust, quality and connection.”
The competition was judged based on several entry requirements. The participants initially needed to like the Pelwatte official Facebook page, share the main post about this campaign, tag 5 friends in the comments section before sharing the greetings as a message. If any Pelwatte products had been used to prepare the food, the participants were encouraged to mention them too.
The campaign was instrumental in upholding the values of giving and sharing, staying happy and strong despite the challenging times. Pelwatte is of the view that every participant of this campaign is an ambassador of the true values, the campaign hoped to achieve.
